This is what happens when you are born in the 90s

17 Jan

Comments in the last week that have reminded me that my sisters are nine years younger than me.

—–

Brogan: “Boyz II Men. Is that some sort of new reality show?”

—–

Calihan: “You know that thing you sing all the time, ‘I Wear My Sunglasses at Night’? I totally just realized that was an actually song!”

Me: “What did you think I was singing?”

Calihan: “I thought you were just making up words to the Miley Cyrus song ‘See You Again’.”

—–

Me: “Her sweater is totally Where’s Waldo?.”

Calihan: “Where’s who?”

for the record: you and your sisters have the coolest names.

and i do my damnedest to keep my sisters in MY generation. although, dorothy is on her way to a jonas brothers concert tomorrow night. she went under duress, but its disconcerting nonetheless :-)

She doesn’t know about Where’s Waldo? The poor, deprived child! :) I still pull my books out from time to time.

Yeah, my 12-year-old cousin is constantly trying to “catch me up” on all the latest tween gossip and pop culture references — which usually results in a quiz on whether or not I can easily recognize and name each of the Jonas Brothers.
