Dysfunctional

If you haven’t seen Rachel Getting Married, you should.

The cinematography of this film was so different than anything I’ve seen recently. The way it was filmed gives the viewer the sense of actually being a part of the dysfunctional family and all their disagreements and wedding preparations. The acting is so natural and throughout the film, I forgot that I was actually watching a movie and not standing in the room with everyone.

It’s a beautiful portrayal of a family that has issues and, in an odd way, it was refreshing that everything wasn’t tied up in a little bow at the end.

oh, i am looking forward to that one! but will probably have to hold out until dvd. sweet cinematography must be the thing for 2008 movies, cause after frost/nixon AND man on wire, i was thinking the exact same thing

I was a bit disoriented by the hand-held quality of the cinematography. The movie was well made, but it hit a little too close to home, so I’m not sure I liked it as much as I would have otherwise.
